In Athens in Georgia, USA - at the Terrapin Brewhouse - Spike Buckowski has concocted a RoggenRauchBier. He reports the OG is 1056°, %ABV is 5.7 with 25 BU from Pilsner, Smoked, Rye, Munich, Melanoidin, Caramel and Chocolate Rye malts and Weyermann's dehusked DH Carafa I. The ever resourceful Spike has other beers in his 'Side Projects' range including Hop Shortage which perversely uses Columbus, Magnum, Simco, Amarillo, and Cascade to get 85BU in a 6.2%ABV beer and Gamma Ray - a 11 %ABV wheatwine which will 'blow your face off' - lucky he does not have to contend with the Portman Group.
