Our Jaguar XE was probably looking forward to a gentle introduction - several slow commutes, a few admiring glances, you know the thing. Instead, we threw it into the fiery slugfest that is the compact executive class these days. No sooner had it arrived at the office gates than it was about-turned and pointed towards Wales to meet the C-Class and updated 3-Series in a wet n' wild road test.
