AWIS Lady, Oh-Brainy, How Does Your Local Chapter Grow?

AWIS Membership growth in the upcoming months and years was a key focus in much of the Summer 2004 issue. As mentioned in the previous Chapter News column, 50% of current AWIS members live in areas with no local chapter. Since group activities like fellowship, networking, and outreach remain some of the most positive features of AWIS membership, why not start your own chapter? To see how easy this can be, we checked in on the Pittsburgh Chapter who joined the fold in Fall 2004. To gauge chapter growth and expansion over time, we have feedback from two chapters at different stages of maturity - San Francisco celebrated its one-year Anniversary in September 2004 and Tallahassee AWIS has been going strong for nearly 20 years.
