Helicopter Changes in Afghanistan

France has withdrawn the last of its helicopters from Afghanistan as Eurocopter Tigers from Spain and Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawks from Sweden have replaced them. The final French mission took place on February 24, when a French Air Force EC725 Caracal operating from Kabul Airport undertook an evacuation mission transporting Georgian soldiers. The next day, the French detachment was officially dissolved and the last two French military helicopters finally departed on March 12.
