DOD inks award for maintaining Afghan Air Force UH-60 helicopters

The Defense Department has tapped Science and Engineering Services to perform maintenance and training services for the Afghan Air Force's future fleet of UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters, according to a recent award notice. The Huntsville, AL-based firm was awarded a delivery order on June 28 for an undisclosed amount for the "UH-60A Afghanistan Maintenance and Training for Afghanistan National Security Forces (ANSF)" program, according to a justification and approval document posted July 26. The ceiling value of the original contracts awarded to SES and one other firm in 2013 for work on U.S. Army helicopters is $1.5 billion.
