'IT’S YOUR CALL' ARFF TACTICAL EXERCISE

The purpose of this exercise is to give the ARFF professional a training tool to prepare for initial arrival, size-up, and tactical decision making at a wide variety of possible aviation emergency scenarios. This can be a very challenging, stressful, and complicated process. This is a skill that comes from extensive response and command experience and is difficult to develop in an airport environment or through in-house training alone. A different image of an actual aviation emergency situation will be presented in this and future editions of Aviation Fire Journal. This exercise can be conducted in an individual or group discussion format.
