Teaching the teachers

With the integration of a-v and IT into UK schools' curricula now an advanced process, few schools, budgets permitting, would choose not to use every available and appropriate tool they can afford - from interactive whiteboards to streaming broadband and video and hard disk-based sound recording. Now, a-v technology is being used to enrich teachers' learning experiences. The Centre for Excellence in Work-Based Learning for Education Professionals (WLE Centre for short) at the Institute of Education (IoE), a teacher training college that is itself part of the University of London, has been set up as part of a Higher Education Funding Council for England initiative to encourage excellence and innovation in higher education.
