摘要

»Scorse started his working life in the biochemistry department at London's Imperial College - as a research assistant to Professor Ernst Chain, the Nobel prize winning chemist. "However, I think I've made a better salesman than I ever would a scientist," says Scorse. "I've always veered towards the consultancy approach of selling and believed it's about listening rather than talking. This is one of the things science taught me. You have to listen and analyse. When I hire sales people, I go for those with the same mentality of listening and not talking. You want someone who can find out what a customer's needs are, and is also responsive enough to give the right feedback and follow-up in a timely manner - all the usual things that science requires."
