The importance of audio in AV, both for conferencing and live sound/presentations, has never been in doubt, even if it's often overlooked in favour of video, staging and lighting. Greater expectation due to higher quality consumer audio technology and the generally good quality of concert sound has led to event producers and venue operators demanding better aural clarity for their events. Improvements and innovations in technology have brought significant benefits for both conference rooms and presentations. There has been a major move on from the days of old fashioned column loudspeakers and gooseneck microphones in the conferencing sector; while in live sound for corporate events, loudspeaker systems are now more consistent because digital technologies for mixing consoles, processors and networking systems have brought greater flexibility as well as better quality.
