GM Powertrain's new inline six for SUVs

For the first time in nearly two decades, three new General Motors vehicles will feature an inline six-cylinder engine developed by GM Powertrain. According to GM Powertrain engineers, the all-new inline six-cylinder (16) Vortec 4200 engine will provide the power, capability, and smoothness of a premium V8 and the fuel efficiency of a six-cylinder engine.
