Alfa Romeo's new Sportwagon is a derivative of the 156, engineered to produce a more stylish Elite D challenger than the usual spin-off estate model. Indeed, Alfa Romeo considers the Sportwagon a five-door "sports coupe", albeit one with luggage space comparable with that of rival Elite D estate cars.
