Pioneering technology to advance the use of aluminium in car manufacturing looks set to take another big step forward by the time Audi launches its replacement A6 executive saloon. Following the introduction of the A2, the first all-aluminium compact car to enter high-volume production, the German company is likely to apply its growing expertise to its next-generation large car range, due to be introduced in 2003.
