Peugeot has unveiled its answer to Audi's diesel R10 Le Mans racer at the Paris Motor Show in the form of the 908, which is to compete in the 2007 Le Mans 24 hour race. Peugeot's V12 HDi diesel engine is the driving power for both the 908 race car and the 908 RC concept limousine, also shown in Paris. The 100° V12 HDi diesel engine has a capacity of 5.5 litres, which is the maximum capacity allowed by racing regulations and is expected to develop around 709 PS (521 kW) and torque in excess of 1198 Nm (885 lb/ft).
