That it took until the end of the first day at the show to get this shot of the Porsche 911 gives an idea of the fascination consumers still have with this model. It's lighter and more efficient than before - sub-200g/km CO_2 - and has what's claimed to be the world's first seven-speed manual. Clever, but the most important feature is the electric power steering. If Porsche's chassis engineers think the fuel-saving technology good enough now, it should help such systems see much wider application elsewhere.
