Jaguar will introduce a 1Gbit/s Ethernet infotainment architecture to its second-generation XF sedan. The system will provide far more bandwidth than other networks, allowing the OEM to offer greater functionality. The XF will use the architecture to run Jaguar's InControl infotainment system which features a 10.2-inch touchscreen and dual-view technology which allows the driver to see information such as navigation, while the front-seat passenger watches television or a DVD. Jaguar said: "To handle the enormous amounts of data, the system features a solid-state drive and a quad-core processor, and runs on state-of-the-art, ultra-fast Ethernet - a next-generation network offering exceptional data transfer rates. Combined, they deliver incredible graphics, fast response times and truly exceptional performance."
