Katnook Estate has been continuously making varietal Merlot since 1987 and now offers the Katnook Estate Merlot at $40/bottle and the more fruit-forward Katnook Founder's Block Merlot at $20/bottle.rnTo celebrate this long association with the variety, Katnook Estate staged its inaugural Merlot Mastery event in November 2007. Merlot Mastery consisted of a series of tastings and a celebration dinner and attracted around 130 guests including leading media and trade, who eagerly compared a range of Australian, French and Chilean Merlots.
