摘要

The impetus for this book appears to be involvement by both authors in a London training programme on records management for museums, so it is firmly grounded in the practicalities and unique challenges of managing records in this particular sector. The book aims to be universally applicable, apart from one chapter that considers British legislation specifically. The intended audience includes those experienced in records management but new to the sector, as well as museum and gallery professionals having to cope with records-management responsibilities. Both authors have sound credentials as practitioners working in this field. Although the book is jointly authored, chapters are attributed to one or the other of the two authors, which suggests, perhaps wrongly, that the writing of content was piecemeal rather than collaborative.
