Steel Cutting of Milgem Corvette in Turkey

ISLAMABAD: The steel cutting ceremony of the Milgem-class corvettes being constructed for the Pakistan Navy, was held at Istanbul Naval Shipyard, Turkey. Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and chief of naval staff, Adm Zafar Mahmood Abbasi jointly cut the metal plate of the first ship. Vice president of Turkey Fuat Oktay, the country's minister for national defence Hulusi Akar, chief of Turkish general staff Gen Yasar Guler, commander of Turkish Naval Forces Adm Adnan Ozbal, ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Muhammad Sajjad Qazi, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony, which also included the induction of the newly-built TCG Kinaliada, the fourth Milgem-class corvette, into Turkish Navy fleet.
