On the 76th Anniversary of Indian Air Force (IAF), may we know your reflections on evolution and growth of IAF and where does it stand today? CAS: The past 76 years have seen the IAF grow from a very humble beginning of a flight of four Wapitis, to an air force with "Strategic Reach" and on the road to becoming an "Aerospace Power". Almost immediately after independence, the Indian Air Force was called into action and was instrumental in saving the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Since then, the IAF has participated in a number of wars of differing intensities over the years. Its exploits are deeply interwoven with the history of our country. The IAF operations in 1971 and during Kargil stand out as glorious examples.
