ADJ: Could you please brief our readers the operational ethos of the PAF in terms of its abilities to wage offensive air warfare? In other words does the PAF believe that it is best used as an offensive tool as opposed to being utilised as for defensive counter air and close air support operations only? CAS: The PAF is a tactical air force and our assigned role is air defence while supporting surface forces. However, air power is inherently offensive, and we have developed our air force to take up an offensive posture in a very short time.
