A large mass affluent class and other strong demographic factors are encouraging consumers in China to trade up to higherrnpriced beer brands. Craft beer in China is also developing a role in the beer market, though it remains a very small part of thernmarket at present. That, however, has not prevented AB InBev from following its US strategy in China, as it has alreadyrnpurchased its first Chinese craft brewery, Boxing Cat Brewery, based in Shanghai, which is one of the best-known and longeststandingrnbrands.
