Cooperation, Sharing Build 'Triple-Win' Strategy for Chartered

In the years ahead, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing will home in on communications systems and technologies. One key difference be-tween the Singapore-based company and its competitors, however, may lie in the partnerships the company cultivates. Chartered chooses partners who are willing to share co-developed technologies with other customers. Says John Martin, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer, "We tend to make very effective use of partnerships (and) joint development activities...(We are) always looking for the ability of the company to share the developed technology with our broad base of customers."
