Furukawa Battery Co., Ltd. and Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. have jointly developed Mg BOX-the world's first emergency magnesium air battery to be packaged in a paper container. The new battery will be released by Furukawa Battery in mid-December this year. Furukawa Battery is located in area affected by the earthquake in eastern Japan that resulted in a tsunami. The development of the Mg BOX was inspired by the company's experience from the disaster. This power supply can be installed at an evacuation site or the like to facilitate the supply of power to numerous mobile devices.
