KOKI Company Limited has released the S3X58-M330D lead-free solder paste specialized for laser soldering. In laser soldering, soldering can be done without directly irradiating a laser onto components. Hence, it not only avoids a load on electronic components but also prevents temperature variation during heating. When existing solder pastes are used forlasersoldering,solventtendstoremain in the flux residue after instantaneous heating using a laser, and can cause insulation resistance to decrease. More- over, flux splashing and solder balls tend to develop due to the effects of heat sagging during heating and rapid heating.
