THK's Platform Robots Get Robot Makers Nod

THK Co., Ltd. has recently started receiving orders for the SEED-R7 Series platform robots of SEED Solutions next-generation service robots.The SEED-R7 Series is a platform robot equipped with a smart actuator, which has been developed for building service robots. It is compact and lightweight, saves on wiring, consumes low power, and has high reliability. Mechatronics elements, which are indispensable for building robots, are provided as a unit, facilitating installation. With this, service robots can meet customers' requirements in a short period of time.Normally, the development of a service robot requires more stringent process while dealing with various issues, such as mechanical design, electric and electronic control, software, and operation, hence, it requires enormous time and labor before a service robot is developed. In order to alleviate customers' burden accompanying the development of robot, THK has developed various units that integrate the mechanical design, electric and electronic control, and basic software, which are indispensable for service robots.
