Hindfoot pain is frequently the cause of reduced levels or withdrawal from sports activity. It may be posttraumatic or the result of overuse. Hindfoot arthroscopy, rarely performed until the year 2000, enables to diagnose, classify and treat many causes of pain, that are often outside the joint. Nowadays expert arthroscopists, who perfectly know the anatomy of the hindfoot, can perform a technique that has been demonstrated to be safe and reproducible.
