摘要

The design concept was inspired by the form of mountain ranges located adjacent to the project site. The contours of mountain ranges 一 the inward/outward flows and layering, perfectly reflect the meaning of site, living space and architectural form of Interconnection.The project is situated at a cross point between urban and mountain areas. On one side, the residents are connected with the city; on the other side, there is serenity and relaxation in nature.The project tried to provide a home for families of two different generations. In traditional Taiwanese culture, young families would live with their parents, but nowadays, they tend to form nuclear families. To fulfill both living desires yet providing independent spaces, drawing inspiration from the mountain layering, the architect designed an interlocking double-storey dwelling units which are uncommon for apartments in Taiwan. The design allow for independent living spaces for both the elders and the younger generation yet still offering shared common spaces such as living room for big family activities. The project has four-dwelling units with separate entrances. The interlocking design feature offers two floor of space in each unit, with each having different floor layout. To enhance the urban landscape, every floor has its unique landscape. The 1st unit has her own garden, 2nd unit have large terraces and balconies for planting; the 3rd and 4th units, occupying the left and right halves of the top floor respectively, have roof gardens. All of these planting areas also provide peace into one's inner tranquility.
