摘要

The Good News is that the number of modernist houses protected by heritage listing is increasing. The bad news is that their interiors are increasingly under threat as the generation that commissioned and built them is now downsizing and selling up, and the new owners are re-evaluating these gems against contemporary standards.rnModernist houses from the 1950s are characteristically small in scale, often with space-saving built-in furniture in modest materials, applied frugally. While their interiors continue to influence contemporary design, retaining them not only takes an appreciation of their distinctive style, but an understanding of the value in their rarity.
