ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE BUILDING, NAGOYA UNIVERSITY

摘要

The Engineering and Science Building at Nagoya University was designed to replace the old School of Engineering building and to serve as a home for the newly established Kobayashi-Masukawa Institute for the Origin of Particles and the Universe. As the first step in the realization of the Campus Master Plan 2010, this building was designed with the direct involvement of many researchers at Nagoya University. While preserving the history and outward appearance of other buildings at Nagoya University, our goal was to generate a common space where many visitors can come and make themselves comfortable, since this is the gateway to the university' s scientific and engineering divisions. As such, we undertook the testing of many different methods to reduce the environmental load by using fins on the exterior of the building. coolth tubes, etc., designing this space as a creative result of cutting-edge research.
