Appraisal Journal Awards

Each year The Appraisal Journal presents the Armstrong/Kahn Award, the Swango Award, and the Academic Award for the best articles published in the Journal during the previous year. The awards are announced In the Spring issue of The Appraisal Journal.rnEach of the awards carries a $1000 honorarium. The awards are funded by the Appraisal institute Education Trust. Winners are presented with a plaque and honorarium at an awards ceremony of the Appraisal Institute.rnThe following summarizes the criteria used in selecting the award-winning articles.rnThe Armstrong/Kahn Award is presented annually for the most outstanding original article published in The Appraisal Journal. Articles are judged on the basis of pertinent appraisal interest, provocative thought, logical analysis, perceptive reasoning, clarity of presentation, and overall contribution to the literature of valuation.
