Morbidity and prevalence of the separate specific illnesses as documented in Chapter II, parts 4, 5, 6, and 7 still do not give a complete picture of the state of public health in the territories affected by Chernobyl. The box below documents the health of the population in the small Ukrainian district of Lugini 10 years after the catastrophe.
