Galleries and Museums in the Twin Cities

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe wrote, "The arts are the salt of the earth; as salt relates to food, the arts relate to technology." This being the case, the Twin Cities offers the arts and sciences aficionado nothing less than a sodium-enhanced smorgasbord. Second only to New York City in arts activities per capita, the Twin Cities is home to three major art galleries, each just minutes from downtown Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Institute of Arts (www.artsmia.org) is an encyclopedic fine arts museum particularly renowned for its Asian art collection and new Chinese galleries. Featured exhibits during the JSM include the photographs of Leonard Freed and the paintings of May Stevens.
