Striving for Consensus on Methods Theme of 7th ICHPS

Scheduled for January 17-18, 2008, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the 2008 International Conference on Health Policy Statistics (ICHPS), formerly the International Conference on Health Policy Research, will include invited and contributed presentations and workshops from prominent statisticians, healtli economists, and health policy experts focusing on quantitative and statistical methods used in health policy, outcomes research, and health services research. Methods will be presented in the context of applications to important problems in the study of health care. Scheduled workshops will include methods for competing risks, propensity scores and instrumental variables, cluster randomized studies, joint modeling of longitudinal and time-to-event data, longitudinal analysis, microsimulation models, and uses of research databases. Invited talks will cover costs, utilization, cost-effectiveness, health disparities, economic assessment of RCTs, causal methods, imputation, and observational data analysis.
