Training wheels

摘要

Operator training and certifica-tion are the new big wheels on the water industry superhighway. The Safe Drinking Water Act amendments of 1996 are driving a new era in which operator certification will be mandatory in all 50 states. Because certification cannot happen without training, these two elements, once thought of as separate and distinct, now turn on the same axle. Their shared mission is to ensure that operators have the knowledge, skills, and competence to deliver safe drinking water, thereby protecting public health.
