Export Program Added: to Conference's International Events

In an effort to broaden the international focus of the annual conference this year, an exporting program presented in conjunction with the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) has been added to the conference's slate of international events. In addition to the conference's International Council Reception, the International Resources Center, and two international professional sessions, the USDOC's International Buyer Program (IBP) will be offered by AWWA's Manufacturers/Associates Council (MAC) for the first time this year. The IBP fosters the export of US-made products by matching international buyers with US firms. Each year the IBP selects and promotes 28 trade shows that represent leading US industrial sectors. At AWWA's annual conference, potential customers from other countries with identified needs and verified resources (who have been selected by overseas USDOC staff) will be matched up with suppliers that offer the needed product and/or service.
