New Water Treatment Works Respects Past... With an Eye to the Future

Scottish Water has built a new water treatment works (WTW) at Glencorse in Midlothian as part of the Edinburgh (Scotland) Drinking Water Project, a strategic program of capital investment to build a new facility and replace aging mains and storage tanks providing water to Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Glencorse WTW will deliver a twenty-first-century replacement to the existing WTW, which has served the city for more than 100 years, will deliver up to 175 million litres of water per day, and meet strict European guidelines on drinking water quality.
