I have been associated with the plastic pipe industry for more than 30 years, and I was very interested in the article, "Permeation of Organic Contaminants Through PVC Pipes," published in May, 2009. It was good to see reporting of the sound, third-party testing of pipe materials used in our industry with regard to permeation. Kudos should be given to the Water Research Foundation for funding this work and to the researchers at Iowa State University who wrote the report and article.
