A Chinese university is to start sending students over to Greenwich to study a course specially designed for them. Bulk solids handling might not sound like the glamorous end of engineering, but it has enough appeal to get a group of Chinese academics to travel halfway around the world. The delegation, from Tianjin University of Technology came over recently to pick the brains of engineers at the Wolfson Centre research facilities in Greenwich. The trip marked the start of a formal relationship between the two organisations which will see dozens of Chinese students receive chapter and verse on all aspects of the movement of powder and granular solids.
