Nathan Allonby's letter highlights what appears to be becoming a common, although not widely known, form of failure in car suspension systems (PE 11 January). To my great surprise, a car of mine similarly failed its MoT test because of a fractured rear suspension spring, the car having done just less than 20,000 miles.
