I have really hot hands and sometimes find modeling really frustrating as I turn the paste to chewing gum. But I do find that a 50/50 mix of Renshaw fondant and marzipan works really well for me, especially when creating animals as it has the most wonderful texture. 1. Roll a smooth crack-free ball of blended paste and then roll it into a fat teardrop, repeat, and for the second teardrop twist a skewer through it. 2. For the head, turn the tip of the teardrop into the nose and push down lightly with your fingertips to mark in the eyes—don’t go too deep.
