摘要

A new practitioner's group, whose members say they have lost interest in traditional ADR training, kicked off a self-proclaimed new direction early this spring by diving into a physiological study of the brain at Duke University School of Law in Durham, N.C.rnOn tap for the organization is more neuroscience, and another "immersion" course later this year at UCLA's Law School.rnThe Master Mediator Institute, a Pittsburgh-based creation of veteran mediator Robert A. Creo and a Canada attorney, Monique McKay, is trying to overhaul the type, extent and style of continuing education for skilled mediators.rnThe group's members are taking a gadfly's approach. Their philosophy seems to be less concerned with techniques-these mediators say they have been there, and done that-and more with how people make decisions, and applying that knowledge to make mediation more effective.
