Additional Iranian Republican Guard Y-12 Ils

TWO ADDITIONAL Harbin Y-12 Ⅱ Twin Pandas have been confirmed in Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Air and Space Force (IRGCASF) service. One of them, 15-2246 'UH' (c/n 0103, ex EP-PUH), was photographed at Iran's Bandar Abbas International Airport on March 20, while the other, 15-2244 'UI' (c/n 0102, ex EP-PUI), was seen at the same location on April 10. Both had previously flown with IRGC-affiliated commercial operator Pouya Air and retain their previous civilian colour schemes. Although they have only just been confirmed in IRGCASF service, at least one may have been transferred some time ago, as registration EP-PUI has been re-used on a Pouya Air Embraer ERJ145EP that has been in service for a couple of years. The type was first seen in service with the IRGCASF in the early 1990s. It is known to be operated by a Light Transport Squadron at Shiraz Air Base. At least 12 are thought to be in service, although precise figures cannot be confirmed.
