Airbus Group has rebranded its Australian entities, with Australian Aerospace Limited becoming Airbus Group Australia Pacific. Airbus marked the occasion with the formal opening of a new headquarters complex in Canberra in July. The new offices were officially opened by the Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon. David Johnston. Following the lead taken early this year when the EADS Group was rebranded as "Airbus Group" and Eurocopter as "Airbus Helicopters", the new Airbus Group Australia Pacific will be home to, and represent, three distinct brands; Airbus Group, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space. Airbus Group Australia Pacific will remain 100 per cent owned by Airbus Helicopters, and the changes will apply to all logos, branding, products and services throughout Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Commenting on the start of a new era for Australia's defence and aerospace industries, the inaugural Managing Director of Airbus Group Australia Pacific, Dr Jens Goennemann, said.
