UAE carrier RAK Airways suspends operations

Ras Al Khaimah-based RAK Airways has suspended all services indefinitely. The small carrier, based in the most northerly of the seven sheikhdoms that constitute the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said the decision was made "following increased pressures on the carrier's performance due to continuous market conditions, increased operating costs and the impact of the regional political instability on the overall aviation industry."
