Islas Airways Suspends ' Operations

Canary Islands regional carrier Islas Airways suspended operations on October 16. It had operated six ATR 72-200s. The carrier launched operations in 2003 but ran into financial difficulties which recently resulted in its staff striking over unpaid wages, causing flights to be cancelled. The airline claims the suspension is onlytemporary while it reorganises.
