It's Time to Fight Back 'Operationalizing' Network Defense

According to the 67th Network Warfare Wing, "The bottom line is that the Air Force must transition from a detection-centric orientation to an active network kill chain approach which integrates prevention, detection, response, and adversary engagement." This vision cannot come to fruition without organizing and tasking NetD operational units to change their operational constructs from a reactive approach (monitor, detect, and respond) to one that, as recently described by Lt Gen William T Lord, "seek[s] out threats and . . . Detect[s] and defeat[s] them instantaneously." We cannot do this in isolation.
