Ecodesign law for air-conditioners

EU Member States have voted in favour of strong ecological requirements for air-conditioners and fans, underthe Ecodesign Directive.TheCoolproducts coalition welcomed this vote saying that, while many Europeans are bracing themselves for a hot and dry summer, itwas crucial the EU acted quickly on cooling appliances. Not doing so would have led to an energy increase comparable to the annual energy consumption of Sweden, it claimed. Coolproducts (www.coolproduas.eu) is a campaign to set ambitious minimum requirements for energy efficiency and other environmental aspects of products sold in the EU.
