In mid-Apnl the Russian Ministry of Defence announced a tender for the purchase of five Kamov Ka-32A11BC search and rescue (SAR) helicopters to operate from three shore-based naval aviation bases. The configuration specified was close to that of the Ka-32AllBCs already delivered to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, although some military avionics will be installed. The SAR equipment that will be fitted includes a SLG-300 external hoist and searchlights. The budget allocated for the purchase is equivalent to $40.7 million, giving a unit pnce of $8.14 million.
