Northrop grumman announced on January 9 that it is to lead a team to compete for the US Army's resurrected Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) programme. ACS is an airborne platform that will provide intelligence, reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition capability for commanders on the ground. The Northrop Grumman ACS team includes AAI Corporation, General Dynamics C-4 Systems and L-3 Communications. Northrop Grumman gave no indication as to which aircraft platform it was looking at for its ACS proposal.
