After nearly a decade of struggle and false starts, the Air Force can now proceed with replacing its fleet of 50-year-old KC-135 aerial refuelers. The Air Force has chosen Boeing as the winner of the KC-X competition to replace the oldest KC-l35s. The service in February awarded Boeing a $3.5 billion contract, which will pay for development and deliveries of four initial aircraft.
